Mala necklaces are made up of a set of beads, traditionally used to focus & center oneself during meditation. Each bead marks the repetition of a prayer. Keeping with Buddhist tradition, this Mala has 108 beads, plus the center beads, which are referred to as the guru or teacher.

This mala is one-of-a-kind & made of Indian Rudraksha beads threaded on 100% silk. Tassel is made of hand-dyed organic cotton. Strung on a new moon.

Rudraksha

Also known as Krishna's tears, rudraksha beads are the dried stones of the fruit of the Elaeocarpus ganitrus tree. The stones are associated with the Hindu deity Shiva & are commonly worn for protection & for chanting mantras such as Om Namah Shivaya. The Rudraksha bead acts like a protective guard that safeguards its wearer from negative energies. It is believed to help relieve stress, lack of concentration, pain, anxiety & depression. Rudraksha is helpful for balancing vata & kapha doshas.
