MahaGhee® is THE traditional Ayurvedic Ghee outlined in the Charak Samhita. Made as it was 10,000 years ago, this highly medicinal ghee is produced by the hands of caring & careful stewards of the sacred Gir cow at an ashram in Gujarat, India. Each cow in this A2 herd of Gir cows (Indian Native humpbacked cows as outlined in the Charak) is lovingly milked by hand. Always cultured before being churned, MahaGhee® is produced from the whole cultured curd, rather than cultured cream.
At Ahara Ghee they refer to MahaGhee® as the "blue cheese" of ghee due to the distinct flavor of Gir cow's milk which makes this ghee unique in taste & ideal for the ghee connoisseur.

Caring for & Life of your products:
Ghee does not need to be refrigerated. Ghee is very stable, and when kept at room temp range, out of the sun, it remains good for at least a year, if not 2 years from opening. We recommend 6 months from opening, because human behavior dictates that you may accidentally contaminate your ghee with a drop of water, or little kid fingers dipping into jars, so use basic common sense, keep your ghee clean and dry, and it will serve you well throughout your jar! KEEP GHEE OUT OF DIRECT SUNLIGHT (which will turn it white and rancid). Good for at least 5 years, unopened.
