How to celebrate Juneteenth & Commemorate Freedom Day

    HAPPY JUNETEENTH!

Also, known as “Freedom Day”, Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of the African American slaves in the United States in 1865. This was a big day (to say the least) in our country’s history, but here we are almost 200 years later in a time when black lives are still oppressed by the unequal foundational systems of our country.

When will we find ourselves in a time when BLACK LIVES MATTER?

When can we truly abolish systemic racism once and for all?

When can the ancestral trauma from hundreds of years of slavery have the space to heal?

These are questions we should all be pondering until they are answered. WE MUST DO BETTER!

    “Nobody's free until everybody's free!”

    -Fannie Lou Hamer

How to celebrate Juneteenth & help to support change:

    • Support black owned businesses
    • Donate $ to black organizations (Color of Change, NAACP, BLM)
    • Share your knowledge
    • Protest
    • Sign petitions
    • Educate yourself
    • Teach anti-racism to your children
    • Join anti-racist organizations in your community
    • Amplify POC voices on your social media platforms
    • Vote
    • Keep the momentum going!

Happy Juneteenth to our black brothers & sisters everywhere! Let today serve as a reminder of how far we have come & how much further we still need to go until there is true liberty and justice for all.
