    Creative Ways to Upcycle Your PAAVANI Containers

    Are you feeling the need to start a zero-waste lifestyle? One easy way to integrate this practice into your life is to get creative and start by reusing and upcycling what you already have... and if you are anything like us, then you always have empty PAAVANI product containers on hand!By reusing or upcycling your PAAVANI jars, bottles, and canisters, rather than purchasing new containers you can help to further reduce your impact on the earth, its resources, and even your wallet!

    SPICE BLENDS

    Do you like to shop for spices in the bulk section of the co-op or even make some of your own spice blends at home? These empty jars make cute storage containers for stocking your culinary blends. Try mixing together a spice blend of equal parts cumin, coriander and fennel to support healthy digestion.Empty containers to use: Cleanser & Mask jar, Golden Milk jar, Triphala jar, Ashwagandha jar, Shatavari jar, Coconut Milk Bath jar &/or Trataka Ghee Candle jar. 

    Bulk Snacks

    Purchasing snacks from the bulk section of your natural food store is a great way to eliminate extra packaging from your grocery cart! Also, if you remember to pack your PAAVANI jars to bring with you to the store, this will eliminate the need for a plastic bag. Empty containers to use: Golden Milk jar, Triphala jar, Ashwagandha jar, Shatavari jar &/or Coconut Milk Bath jar. 

    OFFICE ORGANIZATION

    Glass jars are perfect for organizing and storing all of those little, miscellaneous office supplies. Try using any of our glass jars to make a place for your: rubber bands, thumbtacks, paper clips, push pins and anything else that needs a home.Empty containers to use: Cleanser & Mask jar, Golden Milk jar, Triphala jar, Ashwagandha jar, Shatavari jar, Coconut Milk Bath jar &/or Trataka Ghee Candle jar. 

    SALAD DRESSING

    Any foods that you can make from scratch at home will help to reduce waste. For example, homemade salad dressings usually require minimal ingredients and are simple to make. Store in a glass PAAVANI bottle. 


    Empty containers to use: Pulling Oil bottles, 4oz + 2oz Floral Water bottles, Nose Oil bottle &/or Ear Oil bottle.

    Try this Lemon Tahini Dressing from The Oh She Glows Cookbook:


    Ingredients:


    1 large garlic clove

    ¼ cup tahini

    ¼ cup fresh lemon juice

    3 tablespoons nutritional yeast

    1 to 2 tablespoons sesame oil or extra virgin olive oil

    1 to 2 tablespoons of water

    ¼ teaspoon fine grain sea salt, or to taste


    Directions:


    In a food processor, pulse the garlic to mince it. Add the tahini, lemon juice, nutritional yeast, oil, water and salt and process until smooth. 


    *The dressing will thicken up a bit once it is chilled. Feel free to thin it out, if necessary, with a tablespoon or two of water or oil.



    ALL-PURPOSE CLEANER


    Making your own cleaning products is a great way to reduce waste! Plus, making your own ensures that you know exactly what you are spraying on your countertop. 


    Empty containers to use: Spritzer bottles, Anti-itch Remedy bottle, Rose Water bottle &/or Toner bottles.


    Try this DIY All-purpose Cleaner Recipe:


    Ingredients:


    ¼ cup white vinegar

    1 ¾ cups water

    1 teaspoon borax (optional; strengthens cleaning power)

    30 drops essential oils

    Essential oil blends

    15 drops each of lavender and lemon

    10 drops each of eucalyptus, peppermint and wild orange

    15 drops each of grapefruit and doTerra On Guard


    Directions:


    • Add all ingredients into a glass jar
    • Mix thoroughly and pour into glass spritzer containers
    • Spritz on surfaces and wipe clean

    PLANT SPRAY


    Add organic fertilizer and water into a spray bottle to feed nutrients to your house plants through their leaves.


    Empty containers to use: Spritzer bottles, Anti-itch Remedy bottle, Rose Water bottle &/or Toner bottles.


    HAND SANITIZER SPRAY


    All empty bottles with a spritzer top make great containers for our DIY Hand Sanitizer Spray.

    Wildflower Bouquet


    Flowers added into any of our amber glass bottles add a simple elegance to your home. Lupins, yarrow and Buttercups are all currently in bloom. Find creative ways to bring the outdoors in.


    Empty containers to use: Pulling Oil bottles, Body Oil bottles, 4oz + 2oz Floral Water bottles, Spritzer bottles, Toner bottle, Serum bottle, Nose Oil bottle &/or Ear Oil bottle.

    HOUSEPLANTS


    Use our amber glass jars to pot a newly propagated houseplant or to start an indoor culinary herb garden.


    Empty containers to use: Golden Milk jar, Triphala jar, Ashwagandha jar, Shatavari jar.

    HERBAL APOTHECARY

    There is no better herbal medicine than growing your own! Use our tea tins or glass jars to store your homegrown herbs in order to create your own personal herbal apothecary. 


    Empty containers to use: Herbal Tea tins, Cleanser & Mask jar, Golden Milk jar, Triphala jar, Ashwagandha jar, Shatavari jar, Coconut Milk Bath jar &/or Trataka Ghee Candle jar.
