Are you feeling the need to start a zero-waste lifestyle? One easy way to integrate this practice into your life is to get creative and start by reusing and upcycling what you already have... and if you are anything like us, then you always have empty PAAVANI product containers on hand!
By reusing or upcycling your PAAVANI jars, bottles, and canisters, rather than purchasing new containers you can help to further reduce your impact on the earth, its resources, and even your wallet!
Do you like to shop for spices in the bulk section of the co-op or even make some of your own spice blends at home? These empty jars make cute storage containers for stocking your culinary blends.
Try mixing together a spice blend of equal parts cumin, coriander and fennel to support healthy digestion.
Purchasing snacks from the bulk section of your natural food store is a great way to eliminate extra packaging from your grocery cart! Also, if you remember to pack your PAAVANI jars to bring with you to the store, this will eliminate the need for a plastic bag.
Glass jars are perfect for organizing and storing all of those little, miscellaneous office supplies. Try using any of our glass jars to make a place for your: rubber bands, thumbtacks, paper clips, push pins and anything else that needs a home.
Any foods that you can make from scratch at home will help to reduce waste. For example, homemade salad dressings usually require minimal ingredients and are simple to make. Store in a glass PAAVANI bottle.
Try this Lemon Tahini Dressing from The Oh She Glows Cookbook:
1 large garlic clove
¼ cup tahini
¼ cup fresh lemon juice
3 tablespoons nutritional yeast
1 to 2 tablespoons sesame oil or extra virgin olive oil
1 to 2 tablespoons of water
¼ teaspoon fine grain sea salt, or to taste
In a food processor, pulse the garlic to mince it. Add the tahini, lemon juice, nutritional yeast, oil, water and salt and process until smooth.
*The dressing will thicken up a bit once it is chilled. Feel free to thin it out, if necessary, with a tablespoon or two of water or oil.
